Impressions From Bridge 2

A new Photoshop release is in. Let’s have some fun with it starting with Bridge 2.

Before continuing I should mention that this is not meant to be an exhaustive guide to Bridge 2 or version 10 of Photoshop, also known as Photoshop CS 3 (called PS CS 3 from here on). There are plenty of sites out there already doing so. No need to copy that. This is simply a blog post on what I find interesting and my commentary.

Bruce Fraser Passes Away at 52

Some unfortunate news this holiday season. Saturday morning on December 16th, 2006, news came around the ‘Net that Bruce Fraser had become seriously ill to lung Cancer and the prognosis looked bleak. Unfortunately later that day he passed.

I was fortunate to meet him once albeit briefly during the Epson Print Academy in Los Angeles this […]

Photoshop CS 3 Beta Alpha

I got a chance to download Photoshop CS 3 (PS CS 3) last night and have been poking it with the Pointy-Stick™ since (a Wacom tablet accessory). There’s lots of great stuff which I’ll get around to talking about a little later. First however, I just want to cover breifly a small gripe of mine […]

Adobe Photoshop CS 3

Adobe just announced they will be releasing the CS 3 public beta—a first for Adobe Photoshop—some time tomorrow.

If you want the skinny of what’s new, NAPP has some great videos and screenshots of the new interface and some of the new features.

If you don’t have Photoshop you’re in for a letdown however. It’s only available […]

I often hear people at association meetings and discussion forums marvel at the talent of well-accomplished photographers and ask how they can […]

LCD Cleaning

Most cleaning tools can’t be used on LCDs making cleaning them a bugger. Since LCDs screens are made with plastics and have various anti-glare coatings Windex or any other ammonia or menthol based cleaners will slowly corrode the surface and even cause stains. This pretty much nixes the use of most cleaners; particularly the effective […]

NuLOOQ Part Duex

Hm. I’m having some disappointing issues with the NuLOOQ software (both the driver, and the tool dial). It seems to need some refinement. This deserves a full write-up rather than some short commentary in a blog…

Update: Looks like my issues stemmed from a bad install of the software. A re-install took care of most of […]

Logitech NuLOOQ

Logitech had a display at the Epson Print Academy demonstrating their new NuLOOQ tool dial. It’s an interesting little device designed to integrate into Photoshop (and other Adobe apps) and give you quick access to navigation controls and tools. After fiddling with it shortly I couldn’t help myself and placed an order for one and […]
